Making a Welsh Gold Celtic Knot Ring

Making a Welsh Gold Celtic Open Knotwork Ring.

This was one of two Welsh gold celtic wedding rings that we made as a set.

The Bride and Groom were happy.

1.

The first thing you have to do is to actually draw the pattern onto your gold sheet...

2.

...then drill the holes ready to saw them out - 35 of them!

3.

The next step is to saw the holes...

4.

...like so.

5.

Once you have sawn the holes in the sheet, you then saw around the whole pattern as above. The next steps are to bend the ring round so that the ends join together, and then solder the join, file inside the ring to remove any excess solder, round it up and get it to the right size.

6.

Then profile each line to give it a nice rounded finish, polish it, clean it, and Voila!
