Making a Celtic Open Knotwork Ring.

This was one of two celtic wedding rings that we made for one of our customers. This isn't a full tutorial of how to make this type of ring, but a quick rundown on what happens when a ring like this is made.

1.

The first thing that you have to do is to actually draw the pattern onto your gold sheet...

2.

...then drill the holes ready to saw them out - 35 of them!

3.

The next step is to saw the holes...

4.

...like so.

5.

Once all of the holes are sawn, you then saw around the whole pattern. The next steps are to bend the ring round so that the ends join together, and then solder the join, file inside the ring to remove any excess solder, round it up and get it to the right size.

6.

Then you profile each line to give it a nice rounded finish, polish it, clean it, and Voila!
