9ct yellow and rose gold 'Welsh Poppy' collection incorporating rare Welsh gold.
The native populations of the yellow Welsh Poppy are restricted to damp rocky woodlands and shaded cliff edges, and are probably declining along with the habitat. It is unique in that it is western Europe's only species of Meconopsis - all other species in the genus grow in the Himalayas or western China. However, the plant is commonly grown in gardens where it seeds freely, and consequently has spread rapidly as an escapee since 1970. It is now to be found widely on hedge banks and walls, roadsides and waste ground, and here as beautiful jewellery incorporating rare Welsh gold.
These designs come in a fine Welsh Dragon presentation case with a Certificate of Authenticity.
