Frequently Asked Questions
What percentage of Welsh Gold do you have in your jewellery?
Our Cymru Gold jewellery contains up to 10% Pure Welsh Gold. Some of our competitors claim to use 1% or 5% of Welsh Gold in their products. We have up to 10%. We can also make jewellery containing 100% pure Welsh Gold.
Can you make jewellery using pure Welsh Gold?
Yes we can and we believe we are the only company in the world to do so. We have the last remaining stock from the Gwynfynydd mine and can show you the ingots. Pure Welsh Gold commissions are custom orders though so you will need to contact Nigel for advice and quote. But Our 18ct Pure Welsh Gold is priced by finished weight at £2,500 per gm.
This should give you an idea of the cost.
Do you have a physical shop we can visit?
We do not have a shop as such but it is possible to visit our head office in Cheltenham to view our products but by appointment only please. Our visiting times are Monday, Wednesday or Thursday Midday to 2pm.
I have a worn Wedding ring belonging to a family member that has sentimental value.
Can it be repaired?
Sometimes yes. But mostly no. A worn ring is a worn ring and can't be melted down to make another. It can be used in the creation of a new ring though. And we have often embedded an old ring inside a new shank to create something unique and individual.
All enquiries will have to be assessed by Nigel first though to let you know what is possible and costings.
Are you able to engrave the inside of a ring?
Yes. But it depends on the size of the ring and message.
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrwbwllllantysiliogogogoch might be a challenge!
I would like a 3mm ring but finger size Z. Can it be done?
It could be done BUT we would NOT recommend it. A size Z ring has to have a certain amount of gold if it is not to bend out of shape when worn.
